Mick and Rach are more than just business owners, they’re a husband-and-wife team driven by passion, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. As parents to three wonderful girls, they understand the importance of reliability and trust. These are the values they bring into every aspect of their business.
Together, Mick and Rachel have built Summertime Electrical and Security on a foundation of quality workmanship, honest communication and genuine customer service. Their shared vision, strong leadership and commitment to their team have seen the business grow from a husband and wife operation into a trusted local company delivering electrical, security and solar solutions throughout the Clarence Valley and surrounding regions. They remain passionate about supporting their community, investing in their people and continually improving the services they provide.
Mick
Michael (Mick) Summers is the Director and Co-Founder of Summertime Electrical and Security. With over 17 years of industry experience, Mick specialises in electrical and security systems and holds a Master Security License. Since establishing the business in 2021 alongside his wife Rachel, he has helped grow the company from a two-person operation into a thriving team of fourteen.
Mick is recognised for his practical expertise, strong industry relationships and commitment to delivering quality workmanship. He leads the field team with a focus on safety, professionalism and continuous improvement, ensuring every project is completed to the high standards expected by the business.
Rach
Rach Summers is the Co-Founder, Director and Office Manager of Summertime Electrical and Security. With over 20 years of experience in administration, business operations and management, Rachel oversees the daily running of the business, including customer service, administration, compliance, human resources and business systems.
Rachel plays a key role in ensuring the business operates efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience. Her organisational skills, attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement help support both the team and the ongoing growth of the business.

BILLY WEATHERSTONE
lead solar technician
Billy joined the Summertime Electrical and Security team in March 2024 and leads the delivery of our solar and battery projects. As a qualified electrician and accredited solar professional, Billy specialises in the design, installation and commissioning of residential, commercial and stand-alone power systems.
Billy is responsible for designing tailored solar and battery solutions that maximise performance, efficiency and long-term value for our customers. His expertise spans grid-connected solar systems, battery storage solutions, off-grid systems and energy management technologies, allowing him to develop solutions that meet a wide range of customer needs.
Passionate about renewable energy and emerging technologies, Billy is committed to staying at the forefront of the industry and delivering high-quality outcomes on every project. His technical knowledge, attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship make him a trusted advisor to customers and a highly valued member of the Summertime team.

lead security technician
Lachy joined the Summertime Electrical and Security team in November 2025 as our Leading Security Technician. A qualified Electrician with over 12 years of industry experience, Lachy brings extensive technical knowledge and hands-on expertise across a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial security systems.
Throughout his career, Lachy has worked with many of the industry's leading security platforms, specialising in the installation, programming, commissioning and maintenance of CCTV systems, alarms, access control systems and intercom solutions. His ability to diagnose complex issues and deliver practical, reliable solutions makes him a trusted resource for both customers and fellow technicians.
Well known and respected throughout the security industry, Lachy has built strong relationships with many leading security networks, suppliers and industry professionals. His approachable nature, positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship are matched by his passion for the security industry and dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes for our customers.
Lachy's leadership, technical expertise and customer focused approach make him an invaluable member of the Summertime Electrical and Security team.
Tyson brindle
senior Electrician
Tyson joined the Summertime Electrical and Security team in August 2024 and is one of our Senior Electricians. With over 15 years of industry experience, Tyson brings extensive knowledge across residential, commercial and renewable energy projects.
Having worked extensively within the solar industry, Tyson plays an important role in both our electrical and solar divisions. He is currently further expanding his expertise by completing his solar design and installation accreditation, strengthening the range of services and technical support available to our customers.
Tyson is highly regarded by customers for his friendly, approachable nature and commitment to delivering quality workmanship. His practical knowledge, strong work ethic and ability to build genuine relationships with customers have earned him consistently positive feedback and made him a valued member of the Summertime team. Passionate about his work, family and helping others, Tyson brings both professionalism and personality to every project he undertakes.

junior Electrician
Declan joined the Summertime Electrical & Security team as a Junior Electrician in early 2026.
As a local Clarence Valley resident, Declan is passionate about building his career within the community he calls home. Since joining us, he has quickly developed into a strong and valued team member, bringing a positive attitude, an excellent work ethic and a willingness to take on new challenges while continuing to expand his knowledge and experience.
In the relatively short time Declan has been with us, he has already received glowing feedback from customers, who appreciate how friendly and easy he is to deal with, as well as his ability to explain things clearly. He has fitted seamlessly into the Summertime team.
Thomas small
Security technician
Tom is a Security Technician with a strong background in information technology and electronic security systems. Since joining the Summertime Electrical and Security team, he has become a valuable member of the business, providing technical expertise across a wide range of security projects.
Tom specialises in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of security systems, regularly travelling throughout regional and rural areas to support customers and resolve complex technical issues. His experience with CCTV, alarm systems, access control and network-connected security technologies enables him to diagnose faults efficiently and deliver reliable solutions.
dylan lucas
apprentice electrician
Dylan is a Fourth Year Apprentice Electrician who has developed a broad range of skills throughout his apprenticeship and is well on his way to becoming a highly capable electrician. As his experience has grown, Dylan has started taking ownership of smaller projects and continues to build confidence in both his technical abilities and customer interactions.
Dylan has spent considerable time working alongside our Solar Manager, Billy, gaining valuable experience in solar and battery installations, maintenance and fault finding.
HUGH TERRY
SECURITY TECHNICIAN
APPRENTICE Electrician
Hugh is a Third Year Apprentice Electrician who began his apprenticeship with Summertime Electrical and Security as our very first apprentice. Since joining the team, Hugh has become a valued and dependable member of the business, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to developing his skills.
Known for his organisation, attention to detail and pride in his work, Hugh takes great care in maintaining his tools and equipment and approaches every task with professionalism. He has gained experience across both the electrical and security industries and continues to expand his technical knowledge and capabilities.
LAURIE DALEY
apprentice Electrician
Laurie is a Second Year Apprentice Electrician who is developing his skills across the electrical, security and solar industries. Since joining the team, he has gained valuable hands-on experience working alongside our qualified electricians and technicians on a variety of residential and commercial projects. As he progresses through his apprenticeship, he continues to develop his technical capabilities and practical experience in the field.
JACK CHENEY
APPRENTICE electrician
Jack began his journey with Summertime Electrical and Security as a School-Based Apprentice (SBAT), working one day a week while attending a local high school. After demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to the trade, Jack joined the business full-time and has continued to develop his skills and experience across the electrical and solar industries.

job coordinator
Bryce joined the Summertime Electrical and Security team in October 2025 as our Job Coordinator. With 15 years of experience in the trade and retail industry, he brings strong organisational, planning and customer service skills to the role.
Bryce is responsible for scheduling jobs, coordinating our team and helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently. His attention to detail and ability to keep multiple jobs moving at once make him a valuable link between our customers, office and field staff.

receptionist
Vanessa is the Receptionist at Summertime Electrical and Security and is often the first point of contact for our customers. She handles enquiries and provides administrative support with a friendly, professional and approachable manner.
Vanessa is committed to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every customer receives a positive experience when dealing with our business. Her attention to detail, positive attitude and willingness to learn make her a valued member of the Summertime team.
